Simulations Plus, Inc. (AMEX: SLP), a leading provider of simulation and modeling software for pharmaceutical discovery and development, announced that it has released version 4.2 of its best-in-class ClassPharmer(TM) software product. ClassPharmer versions from 4.0 onward were developed from the merging of the ChemTKTM software product the Company acquired in August 2005 and the ClassPharmer 3.5 software product the Company acquired in November 2005.
Dr. David Miller, ClassPharmer software product manager and Team Leader for Discovery Cheminformatics said: “This version is the result of several months of work. A number of technical features that improve the classification algorithms have been implemented, as well as several user convenience features. Perhaps most importantly, ClassPharmer 4.2 now offers full integration with Scitegic’s widely used Pipeline Pilot(TM) software. This integration will allow chemists to incorporate ClassPharmer’s powerful class generation algorithms directly into their Pipeline Pilot workflows, greatly enhancing their ability to analyze complex high throughput screening data.”
Walt Woltosz, chairman and chief executive officer of Simulations Plus, added: “ClassPharmer has been a significant product in its first year at Simulations Plus. We’ve received renewal licenses from almost all of the former Bioreason customers, and we’ve licensed the software to a number of new customers, including a recent site license with one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, as well as the recently announced license to the National Institute for Health Services in Japan – their equivalent of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The Company recently announced that monies received from ClassPharmer licenses had exceeded the original purchase price for the two acquisitions in less than one year.”
