Robots
Take a look at BigDog and his amazing robot pals in this link to the New York Times. Or, if you love cute and cuddly, you should check out Paro.
I hope that the creators of these robots are heeding the three laws of robotics, as stated by Isaac Asimov in his 1950 classic, I, Robot:
- A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
- A robot must obey orders given to it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
- A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.Handbook of Robotics. 56th Edition. 2058 AD
