Model hurricanes.
Although some meteorological modelers may disagree, it seems to me that models predicting development and movement of hurricanes are getting more and more accurate.
The math is beautiful, but nothing compares to the breathtaking beauty of Hurricane Igor himself, as seen from above on September 13, 2010. What made him even more beautiful is that the models predicted this Category 4 hurricane would miss the US coast and likely the Canadian coast too. But Newfoundland ended up getting lashed by hurricane-force winds and up to 9 inches of rain. The models are good, but, alas, they can’t control the weather.
