About Suvarchala
Suvarchala Avvari joined Simulations Plus in 2021 as a Scientist II where she works on developing the Fexofenadine DDI standard database and testing the new version of Gastroplus.
Before joining Simulations Plus, Suvarchala worked as an intern at Beigene, where she developed a Rifampicin DDI standard database to perform the DDI predictions for Zanubrutinib using Gastroplus. She attended Long Island University, Brooklyn, New York beginning in 2014 to earn her Ph.D. While there, she gained experience developing mechanistic absorption and physiology- based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models in special populations like pregnancy, preterm infants, and gastric bypass surgical population using the Simcyp simulator. She is currently waiting to defend her Ph.D. thesis titled “Application of PBPK modelling to study the impact of Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass on Bioavailability of Oral Antibiotics,” where a special population of gastric bypass model was developed and verified in Simcyp simulator, and the exposure changes of oral antibiotics were tested in this special population.
Besides her professional work, she enjoys spending time with her family and other hobbies like gardening and cooking.
