About Oğuz
Oğuz Kaan earned his B.Pharm. degree with honors in 2021 from Istanbul University, Faculty of Pharmacy. Following his graduation, he worked as an assistant pharmacist in a community pharmacy for one year and gained clinical experience. Upon completing his obligatory role, he was awarded the Fulbright Master’s Degree Scholarship and started his M.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences Degree at the University of Southern California, Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy. Currently in his final semester, Oğuz Kaan is interning with the PBPK Team in the Scientific Department, where he contributes to the testing and validation of new versions of GastroPlus and the development of new learning modules.
Oğuz Kaan has studied pharmacokinetics and PBPK modeling in Dr. Ian S. Haworth’s lab, where he has published one peer-reviewed article and has presented his research at the USC Moving Targets and SETAC conferences. Additionally, he has contributed to several PBPK modeling projects, taught a workshop on PBPK Modeling, given presentations on GastroPlus, and assisted with USC’s international student summer programs.
Outside of his professional life, Oğuz Kaan enjoys traveling, camping, hiking, cooking, and playing soccer. Looking ahead, he aims to elevate his outdoor skills to include mountain climbing, with the goal of summiting the top 10 highest mountains.
