This program, hosted by AAPS and presented by Dr. Xavier Pepin, Vice President of PBPK Research & Development at Simulations Plus, will help scientists reconnect with physical chemistry concepts applying to the measurement of solubility and dissolution. It is based on a mix of theory presentation and practical case studies to illustrate the importance of getting the rights measurements and understanding the data prior to integrating them in a model.

Since drug (release) and dissolution are the first steps to making the drug available for absorption from the administration site, these concepts apply to all dosage forms and dosage routes. They are fundamental parts of any drug absorption modeling exercise and condition the success of the model for low solubility products. The presentation will focus on immediate release dosage forms.
