Quantitative Systems Pharmacology
About Celeste
Dr. Vallejo’s research focuses on using mathematical models to answer a broad range of questions with varying data availability. She has worked with small, mechanistic models of polio transmission to understand the population characteristics that lead to prolonged asymptomatic spread to large, neural networks used to predict hand position from EMG signals. She holds several patents in areas related to modeling and model development including an algorithm to access large-scale model uncertainty, a large-scale simulation model of the healthcare system, and the development of modeling techniques to predict substance impairment.
Dr. Vallejo received her Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Florida. She did her postdoctoral training jointly at the Mathematical Biosciences Institute at the Ohio State University and at Battelle Memorial Institute. Prior to becoming a scientist at Simulations Plus, she was a founder of the QSP/PBPK division at Nuventra. As one aspect of this position, she created models for both small and large molecules for a variety of therapeutic areas.
